New Opportunities for AEOscroft
Midlands based manufacturing company A.E. Oscroft & Sons Ltd (AEO) has a strong commitment to investing and developing in their own people as well as encouraging the next generation into the industry by offering good opportunities through apprenticeships and training schemes.
All staff have recently attended a half day lean awareness course with Team Leaders being trained as Lean Practitioners, carrying out workshops in different departments within the company. These courses have already had an impact on the business with improvements in productivity, quality and efficiencies. The development of other staff include, NVQ’s in Team Leading , CNC training on their new HAAS machining centre and an HNC in Combined Engineering for the Technical Sales Engineer. Continuous Improvement production engineers are currently being enrolled on GCSE courses in Maths and English and NVQ Diploma’s in Mechanical Engineering.
Chris Oscroft, Managing Director explained, “ Developing our own people, is paramount to our continued development and growth of the business, it is important that we invest time, resources and money into our employees, giving them equal opportunities and promoting continuous learning and development to allow them to grow both individually and professionally. It is important to realise that If you want innovation, you have to invest in people.
“We are also proud to announce that John Carrick, our Tool Room apprentice has recently completed his first year gaining distinctions in all results. We have a new Quality apprentice starting next month and are eager to encourage more apprentices into the business with the help of In-Comm Training Services, who have a purpose built facility in Aldridge”.“Due to our continued growth, we have implemented a new structure, introducing additional staff, including a Tool Room Manager and Production Engineering Manager. The first of three new Tool Makers has recently commenced his employment with us, as our Tool Room continues to expand”.
Chris Oscroft concluded, “We will continue to identify and develop innovative opportunities for both new and existing staff, and look forward to a bright future for the Company”.
